The Grand Marche d'Art Contemporain 2011

Pate N 49 a left over from the show 100x100 Gourmandises Parisiennes from 2010.
Here are some views of my stand at the GMAC.  This was before the sculptor arrived.

Then this is us set up together.  She has this stand on a regular basis so invited me to participate with her.  MIROGI is her name and here is her website.

I love here male nudes

I think our stuff works well together.

Here is a view down the alley in the tent.

Passion
n 143

This was a lemony custard floating on a chocolate slab over top a raspberry spongecake.  Does it sound like passion?  It tasted like it.  Though I almost called my beau to ask him to meet me in the Montparnasse tower elevator, I decided to wash the dishes instead.

unfinished taxi

Unfinished
100x100 cm oil on canvas
Too many things got in the way and blocked me from painting this month so I wasn't able
to complete this before the GMAC next week.  Even if I worked on it for the three painting days before the show it wouldn't be dry enough to transport.  I kind of like it unfinished.

The following painting is on auction and 100% of the proceeds will be donated to EVERY MOTHER COUNTS to help women from dying in childbirth.

Note that only the egg it painted the pink is just a background preparation.  I'm happy with this painting, it's the first time I try to paint a cracked egg.  Cracked egg, sounds like a nutty person.

There is something about painting an egg that pulls the traditional out of me.  I had to add the writing on the egg.  It looks like Korean letters.

Times Square Promises

Times Square Promises

Will be at my stand number 54 during the Grand Marché d'art Contemporain - Bastille
28 October - 1 November

This painting took about forty hours to complete.  I've got three more medium sized paintings of NYC that I will finish for the show that is coming up fast.  Plus as many gourmandises I can paint.  My blurb catalogues arrived today and the many 750 invites I ordered are in the mail.  Now were rolling down hill.

The market is autumn.  Mushrooms, figs, grapes and pomegranates.  I love the ruby red inside. It reminds me of Salvador Dali's ruby lipped pin.

133 Haribo Tagada

Haribo Tagada
oil on gessoboard
15x15cm (6x6 inches)

It was nice to catch a ray of sunshine in my studio for about an hour.  The direct sunlight makes lovely contrast, much more inspiring than electric lighting. Note that only the sac and shadow are painted, the background is just the color from the defective tube of Ivory black that I bought.  It tends towards a red-purple.  I'll be sorry when the tube is finished because I don't know what color to look for.  The color is close to mixing normal Ivory black and cadmium red but the consistency is different.  Ivory black is smooth like soft butter and cadmium red is pasty.  This defective tube of Ivory black that I'm using is neither and even if I mix the latter two the consistency is just not the same.

This will be for sale at the Grand Marché d'Arte Contemporain 28 October-1 November 2011 - Bastille, Paris.
STAND 54 under the tent.  If you need tickets let me know.  There are over 1000 artists exhibition and the quality is pretty good.
