Parisian Cityscape - painting in Progress

underpainting,  oil on canvas

Graffiti covered delivery trucks are everywhere in Paris.  French artists of the Nouvelle Figuration included tagged trucks in their works. French Nouvelle Figuration is similar to American Contemporary Realism (my style).  So here I go to blend my technique with the French.

  1. How do you do it? Every piece has me IN it. For example I'm walking right behind the figure in the black jacket (man or woman? I kind of like that I can't tell). I love seeing what you're working on...is this in progress or finished? Also, the red waiters on the right - have we seen them yet?

    Keep the posts coming, please!

    1. Hi Laura,
I'm happy you feel like your there. This painting really opens up a space on the wall, kind of like a window. The red waiters are a commission. I'm not sure if I posted them. When they're up on the wall at the client's house I'll post a photo.
I've been posting less lately because I'm working on a new website with an encorporated blog. This painting is done and it will be with my gallery ParisArtWeb in Honfleur.
