The Maison des Artistes of Paris and the Haiti Action Artistes organized an auction of artworks to help the artists of Haiti after the terrible disaster earlier this year. Artists were asked to participate by donating a work for auction. The 700 artworks are on display at the Ministry of Culture in Paris and will be auctioned off Thursday, 23 september. You can already bid online at this link ...
lot number 280 at Ader Nordman --- lot 280 is my painting.
The painting that I sent is quoted at 300 to 400 euro that is about half what my paintings are currently selling for. Seeing as how I can't keep any stock it is a steal. Mostly of I hope it sells for a good price to help the artists of Haiti gain back space and tranquility so they can dream again.
This painting is of the terrasse at the cafe La Rotonde on the corner of boulevard Montparnasse and boulevard Raspail. It is one of the first paintings of Paris cafes that I painted. It is oil on board.

Angie - What a wonderful thing to do! Thank you for posting the link. It's a great painting...going to count my stash of "funny money"! I KNOW it's a great price because earlier this year I was looking at other works from your Paris collection to buy. I just love how you make the viewer (me!) feel like I'm in the painting, too.
ReplyDeleteHi Laura,
ReplyDeleteGlad that you like it. I love the faces of the people especially the waiter. When you come to Paris I hope we can meet for a cafe - we can go to La Rotonde if you like.
Sounds great! I can hardly wait...I love Paris. I think I could spend years there and never see and do all I have on my "to do" list. I often just get caught up in "hanging out" somewhere (a café, Luxembourg gardens...).
ReplyDeletewow what a cool painting
ReplyDeleteHi Laura,
ReplyDeleteLux gardens is five minutes from our place. I love it there. It is amazing how easy it is to hang out and forget those to do lists.
